Happy Yorkshire Day from Everyone at Renovotec!

As a Yorkshire based company we feel that August 1^{st -} aka Yorkshire Day, wouldn't be complete without a mention for our partner Charity YDMT (Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust). They always have lots of exciting Yorkshire related activities planned to help raise awareness of the Yorkshire Dales and the great days out it has to offer. Please feel free to relax for a few minutes with your freshly brewed Yorkshire tea and read all about their latest activities.

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

They’re currently busy enjoying ‘Hay Time’. As summer hots up, YDMT are full of activity harvesting ripe wildflower seed from species-rich hay meadows in the Yorkshire Dales, which will be spread onto specially prepared 'receptor meadows' in need of improvement.  By the end of the summer, YDMT will have added seed to an impressive 200 hectares of upland hay meadow across the Dales and surrounding area, as well as significantly improving their management. This is ultimately great news for insects and other wildlife, as seed addition and traditional management help the lucky meadows chosen to receive YDMT’s tlc to become more botanically diverse over time.

Continuing along the charitable route, YDMT also invite everyone to visit the Flowers of the Dales festival. Back for its third year after popular demand, the festival offers a stunning range of wildflower-inspired events taking place in picturesque locations across the Yorkshire Dales. Many visitors have already sampled the delights of the festival but if you’ve missed earlier events --fear not – if you still want to get involved, there are still almost 40 events taking place between now and October. This may be especially helpful for parents looking for something fun, yet educational to enjoy with their children during the school holidays – there are craft events, botanical identification resources, photography and butterfly walks (to name but a few) on offer.
